Hooray for Chambray!

For light and easy summer look, try chambray. If you aren’t familiar with this textile it usually comes in red or blue and it is made by weaving colored yarns in one direction and white yarns in the other. It has a denim-like appearance and this year you can find it being used for blazers, button up shirts and shorts.

Wings and Horns is one brand that has masterfully put this textile to use, I am especially fond of their hooded jacket with a plaid lining and chambray exterior.

NUMBER:Lab has incorporated chambray in a variety of pieces in their spring/summer 2011 collection the blazer featured above.

I am a big fan of versatile clothing and this is the primary reason I say hooray for chambray! Chambray can be worn for a casual barbeque or a summer wedding. Traditionally it has a preppy vibe, but application of this textile to items like the hoodie previously mentioned or a scarf result in sporty and modern clothing.
